In 2002 Diane Karp, Director of the Santa Fe Art Institute (SFAI), began to work with Helen and Newton Harrison, activist artists who focus on landscape and environmental issues.  Through out the following two years, they developed contents, maps, and proposed solutions to some of the water issues facing Santa Fe in and exhibition.

Simón as Education Outreach Director and Art Installer for SFAI, worked with the Harrisons on various portions of the 2004 exhibition “Lessons on the Genius of Place.”  Including drawings and installations.  By working for SFAI Simón developed a desire to think and work on a larger scale in his own work through Architecture.
